The indispensable part of any photo

My gear

  • Nikon Z7ii on a tripod in the snow with the lens covered in snow

    Mirrorless digital - Nikon Z7II

The Nikon Z7ii is my go-to camera for most shooting situations. I chose it because it didn't play up its video credentials, since I have never used it for video and I'm unlikely to. The 48MP resolution is great for landscape, which is my primary area of photography.

  • Sony DSC RX100

Compact digital - Sony DSC RX100

I only recently "rediscovered" this camera, by which I mean I dug it out of its box where it had been left abandoned ever since I bought my first DSLR over 10 years ago. The reason? I was looking for something small and light that I could carry on a two-hour hike to get this sunrise shot.

  • Holga 120 N

    Analogue

I'd like to say that switching back to analogue after so many years took me back to my childhood. But the Holga 120N is nothing like any camera I ever used as a child or teenager.
