Black and white photography captures the essence of a scene by distilling it down to its most fundamental elements: light, shadow, and texture. While I don't initially set out to shoot in black and white, certain moments and compositions naturally lend themselves to this aesthetic, stripping away the distractions of colour and allowing the viewer to engage with the subject on a deeper level. In these images, contrasts become more pronounced, highlighting the play of light and emphasising shapes and patterns that might otherwise go unnoticed. The resulting photographs often evoke a timeless quality, inviting contemplation and rendering emotions more raw and immediate.
